    Meet The Web Committee

The Web Committee meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Oxford Town Hall.

    Richard Wilson
    Chairman

    Brett Olbrys
    Vice-Chairman

Brett grew up in Seymour, attended Seymour High School, and then both Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the University of Connecticut.  At WPI, Brett majored in Aerospace Engineering and was a member of the Army ROTC, as well as Pershing Rifles, a military fraternity.  At UConn, Brett majored in and graduated with a B.S. in Business Management.  He was also a member of UConn's Varsity Cheerleading squads for both Football and Men's Basketball for three years.  Brett is continuing to pursue his MBA in e-Commerce through Loyola College and Fairfield University.

Upon graduating from UConn, Brett went to work for General Electric's (GE) Appliance division in Kentucky.  After a few years, GE relocated him to Maryland, where he spent the next two years of his GE career.  In 2001, Brett moved back to Oxford, CT with his wife and daughter, where her family has lived for over 30 years.  That same year, Brett and his wife had their second daughter and for the next 6 years, Brett worked for the Lighting division of GE.  Brett is now the Director of Business Development for a local Energy Services Company, helping them expand their operations from a regional business into a national company.

From his earliest days at GE, to his work with his church and its organizations, as well as his local community involvement, Brett has invested a substantial amount of time trying to help those in need.

Brett volunteered for the Web Site Committee because he feels that this committee, through the Web Site, has the ability to deliver important town information to the residents of Oxford that they previously did not have before.  Instead of an environment where residents are searching for information, the web site will now have the capability of delivering the information to those who want it, but in a timely manner.  The web site will also be a place where the residents of Oxford will be able interact with the local government and be a part of the solution.  Brett's philosophy is that the more residents are informed about local events and the more information they have, the better their decisions will be for the future success of Oxford.
